ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION

The Ocean Sea Foundation’s 501(c)(3) mission is to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean and sea environments around the world. We focus our collective expertise on emerging threats and international marine biology research.

We support researchers who cannot complete their research for lack of funds within their national research institutions and help them carry out sampling and observations in regions not covered yet by mainstream research organizations.

MISSION
EXPLORER and MARE MUNDUM 2024

The "Explorer" mission is set to commence soon. Supported by the research vessel "Explorer," this mission will survey and collect seawater samples from locations in Svalbard, Denmark, and Italy. Its primary objective is to assess levels of Xenobiotic Compound contamination, pinpoint pollution sources, and evaluate human anthropogenic impact. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the International Marine Organization.

MICROPLASTIC SURVEY
-2023-

Our oceans are choked with plastic. Eight million tonnes of plastic pollution ends up in the ocean each year, breaking down into tiny bits to become microplastics. Now, microplastics are in the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe.

Plastic pollution has become pervasive, pernicious and persistent.

Studies suggest, people are ingesting around 6 grams of plastic a week – the same as one credit card and yet, the scale of microplastics pollution is hard to fathom.
